Ericsson, PIDI 4.0 inaugurate 5G innovation centre

Ericsson Indonesia and The Center for Digital Industry 4.0 (PIDI 4.0) have inaugurated their joint 5G Innovation Centre at PIDI 4.0 building located in Permata Hijau, Jakarta. PIDI 4.0 is a government agency within Industrial Human Resources Development Agency under the Ministry of Industry.

The 5G Innovation Centre aims to accelerate Indonesia’s change towards industry 4.0. By ‘Making Indonesia 4.0’, Indonesia has potential to occupy high place among 10 economies by 2030. In addition, according to a study from The Asian Development Bank titled “Innovate Indonesia Unlocking Growth Through Technological Transformation”, by adopting recent technologies, productivity can be improved and will drive accumulated GDP (gross domestic product) growth of 11% in 2020-2040 period.

The collaboration between Ericsson Indonesia and PIDI 4.0 will play a vital role in helping to fulfill government’s ambitions of Making Indonesia 4.0 and build digital talent. Ericsson, as an ICT (information and communications technology) provider, will continue to support Making Industry 4.0 initiative of Indonesian government by creating a digital infrastructure and boost creation of a strong 5G ecosystem in country. The 5G Innovation Centre being set up is an example of the same.
