CROSS-DOMAIN AUTOMATION

Can CSPs extract network intelligence to automate across domains?

As CSPs continue to transform it’s abundantly clear that network intelligence must be utilised to feed telecoms IT systems and enable automation. This needs to happen as a matter of course but also predictively to enable networks to dynamically change so they can support peaks and troughs in demand. The days of building in excess resilience to handle the peak are gone because infrastructure is too costly to underutilise in this way.
This report will explore the ways in which analytics are being applied to networks to assure services, enabler greater automation and to fuel AI operational systems. The future relies on intelligent systems that can automate service provisioning and assurance across multiple domains to enable services to be delivered flexibly. Analytical insights must therefore be accessible and flow freely across the IT estate in order to feed and enable the systems that deliver new services, and ultimately new revenues, to the telecoms industry.

PRIVATE 5G NETWORKS

Are private 5G and edge computing creating the new CSP?

The history of the telecoms industry has been focused on building infrastructure to sell to enterprises and consumers. However, the divergence of needs from business to business and user to user has meant that the monolithic networks of the past are no longer fit for purpose and enterprises now want networks tailored to meet their needs. That might range from a network to support millions of commoditised IoT devices to an ultra-low latency network that supports a market of a few thousand highly specialised devices. Each places different demands on the network and this should be reflected in the offerings presented to enterprises.
As 5G has arrived along with advances in edge computing there is the opportunity to do far more than simply connect things and people. The network can form part of a holistic data collection, analytics and action chain that is in itself a new form of business. This report will assess how CSPs are adapting to the new business landscape, whether they can tailor and optimise their offerings flexibly and how they should approach this new era. The critical success factor lies in how quickly they can move and how effectively vendors can support transformation.

THE SHARED ECONOMY

Will CSPs play to their strengths and win digital business?

Digitalisation means services and products are delivered via new models that typically involve multiple parties. Each brings specialist capabilities to the business and each needs to be compensated transparently and fairly. This presents a compelling opportunity for CSPs to reinvent themselves as not only network providers but also providers of billing, customer support and partner relationship management. CSPs have a lot of strengths here that they can bring to digital partnerships such as charging, support, revenue management and fraud prevention. The CSPs can be at the centre of the revenue flow and be the trusted broker of goods and services thanks to their longstanding BSS capabilities.
This report will explore how CSPs are approaching the digital value chain, the extent to which they are formalising their capabilities to support digital business and the challenges they face in demonstrating their relevance to a market that is dependent on CSP networks but yet to identify CSPs as digital pioneers. We’ll examine how CSPs can strengthen their positions and monetise their skills.

O/BSS IN THE CLOUD

Can cloud enable simplified telecoms IT that CSPs can monetise?

CSPs can no longer engage in long-term, slow-moving, investment hungry incremental IT system upgrades. These take too long, cost too much and don’t deliver the flexibility they need to accelerate into the digital era. CSPs don’t want to create complex, bespoke systems that require on-premises infrastructure that comes with a substantial upfront cost. Instead, they want the flexibility to dial up or down capacity as business dictates, while controlling infrastructure costs and being able to take advantage of an assured upgrade path.
Cloud-native OSS/BSS offers this promise if CSPs migrate to cloud-based solutions that offer the promise of simplified systems on an as-a-service basis that give them the flexibility to add new functionality or upgrade specific systems without having to invest in a traditional IT project. This report will assess the cloud reality and explore how cloud-based telecoms IT offerings are delivering on their promise to streamline telecoms IT, break down the siloes and support radically increased flexibility.

WEKNOW HOW TO CREATE BRAND FANS BUT WHAT DO THEY SAY ABOUT US?

“IoT Now’s ABM program has been even more successful than we expected. The leads were spot on and there were plenty of them to work with. That, combined with their professionalism and easy-to-work-with attitude has made our collaborations with IoT Now a great success.”
