Actis-Led consortium acquires Telekom Srbija’s macro tower portfolio 

An Actis-led consortium has acquired the macro tower portfolio of Telekom Srbija. The carved-out portfolio is comprised of approximately 1.8k macro towers (of which c. 1.0k in Serbia, c.0.7k in Bosnia & Herzegovina, c. 0.1k in Montenegro) and is well placed for further commercialisation and expansion. As part of the transaction, an independent tower company has been established, fully controlled by Actis, which has entered into a long-term master services agreement (MSA) with Telekom Srbija as the tower company’s anchor tenant and important partner for future growth, the MSA contemplates build-to-suit (BTS) commitments to further expand the platform’s reach and to accommodate new telecommunications technologies that will be rolled out in the region. “Actis-Led consortium acquires Telekom Srbija’s macro tower portfolio “

Telekom Srbija selects Ericsson billing systems

Serbian communications service provider (CSP) Telekom Srbija has signed an agreement to implement Ericsson’s Charging and Billing in One software for its residential and corporate mobile and fixed-line subscribers, enabling the completion of the transformation of its business support systems (BSS).

The implementation is the final step in a transformation process that began in 2011 and will provide the Serbian operator the flexibility to offer a wide range of promotions, discounts, incentive programs, targeted campaigns, cross-service bundles and differentiated tariffs to its customers and also allowing them to have full real-time control over their spending.

Predrag Culibrk, the chief executive of Telekom Srbija, saaid: “As the leading telecoms operator in Serbia, we always aim to provide our subscribers with services and solutions that will enhance their experience. We are glad that together with Ericsson we will implement such an advanced business support system enabling us to meet expectations of our customers and to follow market trends.”

Nunzio Mirtillo, head of Region Mediterranean at Ericsson, added: “This latest project is a continuation of our partnership with Telekom Srbija in BSS. Ericsson is the market leader in the domain convergent charging and billing solutions, and we expect that our solutions will help Telekom Srbija in achieving a better customer experience.”

EBRD joins Actis consortium for Western Balkans mobile towers

As part of its drive to support digital transition in the Western Balkans, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has joined a consortium of international investors led by Actis. The consortium, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), will acquire approximately 1,800 mobile towers from Serbian state-owned telecoms operator Telekom Srbija that are spread across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia. “EBRD joins Actis consortium for Western Balkans mobile towers”
