Allot Communications Service Gateway Virtual Edition now powering Amdocs Policy Gateway solution

Allot Communications Ltd. a provider of security and monetisation solutions that enable service providers to protect and personalise the digital experience, has partnered with Amdocs, customer experience software solutions and services provider.

Allot will supply the underlying traffic detection function (TDF) for Amdocs Policy Gateway (APG) solution. Within the solution, Allot Service Gateway Virtual Edition operates as a virtual TDF, supplying granular application visibility, metering and policy enforcement to Amdocs Policy Gateway. The result is an end-to-end, PCRF-PCEF solution that is deployable over the cloud and in virtualised environments.

The integration between Allot and Amdocs allows service providers to take advantage of a turnkey Policy Control and Enforcement solution that is flexible, agile, and deployable in any network environment. Specifically, communications service providers (CSPs) will be able to:

  1. Define all available data services and parameters used to meter usage;
  2. Create subscriber plans based on available services and assign metering limits;
  3. Create rules to combine subscriber entitlements with dynamic influencers;
  4. Use automated test tools to create/modify use cases and thresholds to determine the policy rule; and
  5. Deploy new services in the field with no on-site coding.

“Accurate traffic detection and visibility is absolutely essential for the provisioning, enforcement and charging of any data service, especially application-based services and IoT connectivity models that are constantly evolving,” said Yossi Abraham, VP Global Business Development & GM of North America at Allot Communications.strategic-business-consulting-logo

“The tight integration we have achieved between Allot’s vTDF and Amdocs Policy Gateway will make it easier and cost-efficient for CSPs to roll out competitive and innovative data services and rapidly update or modify existing use cases, keeping up with the evolving demands of their customers.”
