TPG Telecom has announced changes to its executive leadership team, with customer operations now reporting to Vanessa Hicks in the newly created role of group executive customer and people experience.

Having served as TPG Telecom’s group executive people experience since 2020, Ms Hicks was previously Vodafone Hutchison Australia’s director of human resources, and brings extensive experience in customer operations to her expanded group executive role, having held similar roles at Vodafone, Virgin Mobile and ING.

“Vanessa’s track record of success and commitment to our company’s growth and extensive background in customer operations, organisational culture and leadership programmes makes her well-suited for this role,” said Iñaki Berroeta, the chief executive at TPG Telecom. “We are pleased to welcome Vanessa to this new expanded role and are confident she will continue the great work Ana has led for so many years.”

Ms Hicks assumes the customer operations portfolio from former group executive customer operations and shared services, Ana Belea, who will be returning to her home country of Romania later in the year.

Ms Belea previously held the position of chief customer officer for Vodafone and Lebara at TPG Telecom, following her tenure on the Vodafone Hutchison Australia executive team since 2018.

Mr Berroeta said, “Ana has been an integral part of our leadership team and will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of working alongside her. Her global experience in customer care and operations has led to significant improvements in how we prioiritise and care for our customers, resulting in record-low complaint numbers across our brands. “We wish Ana and her family all the very best for the future and thank her for her significant contribution.

Ms Belea will remain in an advisory role until May 2024
