NTT Innovation Institute eliminates password risk by building MIRACL M-Pin® Strong Authentication into enterprise platforms

Authentication provider MIRACL announced that NTT Innovation Institute (NTT i3), the prestigious Silicon Valley-based innovation centre for NTT Group, has selected MIRACL’s M-Pin Strong Authentication technology to authenticate users and protect critical company data for its Global Threat Intelligence Platform™.

Commenting on the partnership, Brian Spector, MIRACL CEO said: “Enterprises and online services alike are dealing with an unprecedented number of cyber attacks. By working with NTT i3, MIRACL will deliver a powerful combination of zero-password strong authentication.”

“MIRACL’s zero password authentication solutions, which eliminate authentication database breaches and improve the user experience for end users, deliver immediate security benefits” stated Rich Boyer, NTT i3’s Chief Architect.

NTT Innovation Institute, Inc. (NTT i3) is the Silicon Valley-based innovation center for NTT Group, one of the world’s largest ICT companies. Focused on fostering strategic innovation, NTT i3 works with established enterprise companies interested in investigating new approaches to evolving into technology-first, digitally-driven businesses. Likewise, NTT i3 partners with early stage digitally-native businesses looking to expand their presence and challenger advantage.

Accelerating the movement of innovation from initial idea to marketplace implementation, NTT i3 combines access to the significant global infrastructure resources, investment fund, research knowledge, and trusted long-standing customer relationships of NTT Global with its own software startup expertise and deep enterprise relationships.

MIRACL is an internet cyber-security company providing protection to Cloud Computing services and their customers by replacing the outdated and problematic single-authority certificates and public key infrastructure (PKI) models.

MIRACL’s pairing-based cryptographic platform for the Cloud addresses issues including key management, secure communications, and data governance / compliance that currently challenge Cloud providers and their customers in sectors such as finance, government, and healthcare.

MIRACL also has developed the M-Pin crypto application, which offers identity and access management security online through a zero-knowledge proof authentication protocol that does not store passwords, PINs or credentials of any kind to prevent the database server attacks that organisations face today. M-Pin® customers include Experian, Gov.UK, and other security conscious organisations through distribution partners such as NTT Software, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Canonical Juju.

M-Pin® claims to remove the largest cyber security threat organisations face today; password database smash n’ grab attacks. M-Pin delivers two-factor authentication, a better user experience, and is resistant to man-in-the-middle attacks using any modern browser or app. The new M-Pin-In-Mobile SDKs for iOS and Android enable app developers to embed M-Pin® client functionality directly into their app, and support the TEE in all mobile devices it is built for.
