Netscout’s Tektronix Communications extends TrueCall geoanalytics capabilities with Ericsson OSSii agreement

Tektronix Communications, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Netscout Systems, will extend the availability, reliability and capability of its TrueCall geoanalytics platform through signing with Ericsson an Operations Support Systems Interoperability Initiative (OSSii) agreement.

TrueCall is a real-time 24×7 network-wide geoanalytics platform.  It hosts a suite of applications that provide monitoring, visualisation, optimisation, automation, and data monetisation solutions.  With this OSSii agreement, Tektronix Communications can increase TrueCall’s reach and availability across a wider set of radio access technology (RAT) types and management systems.

Richard Kenedi, president of service provider business at Netscout, said: “By joining the OSSii program with Ericsson, Tektronix Communications will continue to expand our lead in the RAN geoanalytics space and enhance the multi-vendor capabilities of our platform. This agreement further underscores the availability and reliability of the high-value, mission-critical, real-time, 24×7 network-wide applications supported via TrueCall.”

Fredrik Gessler, the head of Network Analytics and Management at Ericsson, added: “With the rapid evolution of mobile networks, interoperability is becoming a major expense for operators. OSSii addresses this issue by delivering integration efficiencies, faster time-to-market and lower integration costs, and Ericsson’s agreement with Tektronix Communications underlines Ericsson’s commitment to supporting interoperability.”

OSSii is an initiative led by major network infrastructure vendors. It aims to facilitate the interoperability between network management systems from different vendors. OSSii promotes competition for network-level OSS systems by reducing the overall integration costs, as well as speeding up the time-to-market for new services.
