BAI Communications appoints new directors to board

BAI Communications (BAI) has announced the appointment of Christy Boyce, Michael Ebeid AM and Adelle Howse as directors to the BAI Communications board. Boyce, Ebeid and Howse join the newly-formed board alongside Bart Vogel who was recently announced as chair. The new directors bring a wealth of leadership experience to BAI and will provide advice and counsel for the business as it continues its upward trajectory and growth.

Boyce is an advisor and experienced director, having worked with senior leadership across a range of multinational and Australian-based corporations. As a partner at McKinsey & Co, she co-led the Asia Pacific Telecommunications Practice and as head of industry engagement, she was a key executive in the establishment of nbn. Boyce currently serves as a non-executive director for CSR Limited and Vera Living, and is chair of the SCEGGS (Darlinghurst) Trust.

Ebeid brings a wealth of experience from his 35 year career across the media, telco and technology sectors having held senior executive roles at SBS, ABC, Telstra, Optus and IBM. Ebeid is currently a trustee of the Sydney Opera House Trust, a Screen Australia board member, and was formerly a board member for SurePact and The Direct Group. In 2017, he was awarded an Order of Australia for services to the media, multicultural affairs and innovation, and named CEO of the Year by CEO Magazine.

Joining Boyce and Ebeid, Howse brings executive and non-executive experience to the BAI Board in strategy, M&A (mergers and acquisitions), and high performance culture, from a variety of industry sectors including digital infrastructure, construction, energy and resources. Howse is currently an independent non-executive director for Downer EDI Limited, a non-executive director for Sydney Desalination Plant, an independent non-executive director at Macquarie Technology Group and the principal at Structuring for Performance.

Bart Vogel, chair of the BAI board, says “We are delighted to welcome our new directors. The addition of Christy Boyce, Michael Ebeid AM and Adelle Howse comes at a crucial juncture as BAI focuses on its important role as partner and trusted advisor to the Australian broadcasting industry, as well as expanding its telecommunications offering.”

“This offering, through solutions such as public and private wireless networks, sees BAI ready to transform Australia’s connectivity landscape; enable ubiquitous coverage in buildings, tunnels, stadiums and other congested hard to cover areas, and contribute to the creation of smart precincts. Our Board members all bring fresh perspectives and will play a pivotal role in helping to guide the strategic direction of BAI as it embarks on its next phase of growth,” adds Vogel.
