NFV webinar: Mitigating Deployment Risks – on-demand version now available

VanillaPlus NFV Roundtable Part 2: Mitigating Deployment Risks

This roundtable examined the deployment challenges operators face as they virtualise their network functions.

First, we explored which areas are being virtualised earliest – is it virtualised VoLTE or virtualised customer premise equipment deployments that are leading the way? We assessed which is riskier and how communications service providers (CSPs) are addressing the challenges associated with NFV deployment?

Next, we assessed the approaches being taken to preparing for NFV and, ultimately, bringing it to market. We explored whether pre-integrated platforms are essential and how organisations can prepare culturally for the shift from network-oriented to IT-oriented technology?

Finally, we examined how operators will manage complex service chains over virtualised and hybrid virtual/physical networks. We discussed the orchestration challenge, what orchestration technologies and solutions are available and how they are being trialled and deployed.
