Nepal Telecom signs convergent billing system deal with AsiaInfo-Linkage

AsiaInfo-Linkage is to provide convergent billing and customer relationship management software to Nepal Telecom, the incumbent telecoms network operator in Nepal.

Beijing, China and Santa Clara, California, USA — AsiaInfo-Linkage, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASIA), a provider of telecommunications software systems and services, is to provide convergent billing and customer relationship management software to Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (trading as Nepal Telecom), the state-owned incumbent telecoms network operator in Nepal.    

With approximately six million mobile subscribers, Nepal Telecom (NT) is the country's largest telco. Its services include local calls, national calls, international calls, international telegram, domestic telex, international telex, leased lines, operator-assisted telephone, packet switching data communication, integrated services digital network, pay phone, intelligent network, PCC easy call service, HCD service, universal access number service, PSTN credit limit service, post-paid and pre-paid mobile, CDMA, GSM, 3G services, internet and email systems. Nepal Telecom also offers online services for checking phone bills, as well as telephone search, caller ring back tones, and Web SMS services. The company was founded in 1975 and is based in Kathmandu, Nepal.
