DigitalRoute has been selected by BTC to support the operator's 4G and NGN projects.
Stockholm, Sweden. December 13, 2011 — DigitalRoute has been selected by BTC, the Bahamas Telecommunications Company, to support the operator's ongoing 4G and NGN projects. BTC, the country’s sole wireless provider is aiming to roll out its 4G network during 2012, enabling 20 to 30 times faster data speeds compared to what is available today.
DigitalRoute® is an independent software vendor delivering mediation and integration solutions to the global telecoms and data communications industries. The company simplifies service providers’ data infrastructure, centralising integration of IT and communication networks. Its mediation, data integration and policy control technology is deployed for 240 customers worldwide.

BTC is the incumbent mobile operator in The Bahamas, as well as a provider of fixed line and broadband services. The company currently has approximately 123,000 fixed line customers, 388,000 mobile customers and 19,000 broadband customers.
