CoroWare integrates billing system and HD videoconferencing

CoroWare's integration helps monetise HD videoconferencing

Redmond, WA, USA. June 9, 2010 – CoroWare Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of CoroWare, Inc. (COWI.OB) has announced the availability of CoroWare Billing Integration Framework™ for MetraTech and Vidyo. This is a software system that integrates dynamic usage- and subscription-based billing from MetraTech Corp and high definition videoconferencing systems from Vidyo.

Service providers that want to launch a videoconferencing service with a choice to offer usage-based billing, require a billing integration solution that can be customised to interoperate with existing infrastructure elements, easily modified to meet their dynamically changing business needs, and rapidly deployed in an efficient and cost effective manner.

The CoroWare Billing Integration Framework for MetraTech and Vidyo combines MetraTech’s highly scalable MetraNet usage-based billing systems with Vidyo’s award-winning high definition videoconferencing platform. This solution is said to be an affordable and effective way for service providers to monetise their videoconferencing services as they evolve to meet the demands of rapidly changing business models, pricing plans, and customer requirements.

“Service providers must innovate their business models and flexibly respond to their customers’ changing needs without being limited by their billing system,” said Mark Dudman, Executive Vice President of MetraTech Corp. “CoroWare’s solution facilitates that growth by helping service providers add videoconferencing to their range of profitable services.”

Built on Microsoft’s SQL Server 2008 platform, CoroWare Billing Integration Framework processes videoconferencing call detail recordsincluding the number of Vidyo rooms, ports, users, and session minutes – and conveys the processed usage data to a MetraTech billing platform. Service providers can then customise billing rules, reports and payment details, effectively lowering operational costs when compared to traditional, billing systems.

CoroWare’s approach provides cross platform interoperability that allows service providers to utilise “best in class” business support systems (BSS) elements throughout their infrastructure architecture. Service providers can take advantage of many open approaches to solving their BSS needs without being limited by their billing system.

“Combined with the Vidyo and MetraTech platforms, CoroWare’s solution can help service provider customers deploy an affordable, flexible and powerful solution for generating videoconferencing revenues,” said Lloyd Spencer, President and CEO of CoroWare. “CoroWare’s recent telepresence solution offering further expands CoroWare’s range of products and services that help customers affordably deploy high definition videoconferencing solutions worldwide.”
