Ericsson is enhancing its 5G capabilities with the launch of an end-to-end solution that aims to guarantee the consistent low latency and high reliability demanded by time-critical applications and services

The call was conducted over 3.6GHz spectrum using Ericsson’s Baseband 6630, Radio AIR6488 and a 5G SA device based on a MediaTek chipset.

Ericsson and Telstra have successfully deployed and tested Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) data connections up to 100km from a base-station in Telstra’s commercial network. This is said to be the longest-range NB-IoT
