Rogers and Lynk Global Inc. have announced they completed Canada’s first successful satellite-to-mobile phone call using Samsung S22 smartphones. The call took place in historic Heart’s Content, where the world’s first transatlantic telegraph cable took place between Canada and Ireland over 150 years ago. Virgin Media O2 has developed a 5G connected drone to help search and rescue teams establish reliable communication in the most remote areas, helping them to protect lives. CPI Vertex Antennentechnik, a subsidiary of Communications & Power Industries (CPI), has been selected to provide high-performance Ka-band antenna systems to SES for its O3b mPOWER communications system. Telia Norway and Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency have demonstrated how network slicing is used to create a private network for the Norwegian Armed Forces. In this way, Norwegian Armed Forces’ mobile traffic is separated from other traffic in Telia Norway’s national 5G network, ensuring secure communication in both peacetime and crisis situations.
