Omantel, Telkomsel sign up to GSMA blockchain trials for optimised roaming operations

The GSMA has announced wholesale roaming trials for its telco blockchain network GSMA eBusiness Network to demonstrate the benefits of blockchain technology for mobile network operators (MNOs). Blockchain providers and roaming partners Omantel and Telkomsel have signed up to the GSMA eBusiness Network Accelerator programme to monitor inter-operator roaming processes, support roaming agreement negotiations and expedite billing and settlement. The trials will go live in June 2023.

Dialog, Axiata Group, Bharti Airtel sign binding term sheet to combine operations in Sri Lanka

Dialog Axiata Plc, Axiata Group Berhad and Bharti Airtel Limited, have entered into a binding term sheet to combine operations of Bharti Airtel Lanka (Private) Limited, Airtel’s subsidiary with Dialog, a subsidiary of Axiata Group Berhad. The proposed transaction envisages Airtel being granted a stake in Dialog, representing the fair value of Airtel Lanka. Airtel would accordingly be issued new shares in Dialog upon completion of the transaction.
