STC Group’s TAWAL begins operations in Europe

STC Group, an engine of digital transformation in MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region, announced that its subsidiary TAWAL has begun operations in Europe. The announcement follows completion of TAWAL’s acquisition of United Group’s telecom tower assets in Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovenia on April 25th, 2023, as part of STC Group’s strategy to expand and grow, and after obtaining all necessary approvals from related regulatory organisations.

TAWAL now owns and operates over 4,800 sites across Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia, providing operation services to new clients in these countries. This acquisition represents second step of TAWAL’s expansion plan following launch of TAWAL Pakistan in 2022. The total towers portfolio of TAWAL is now exceeding 21,000 towers across five countries.

Tapping into European market’s growth potential with regards to roll out of 5G and adaptation of mobile services TAWAL aims to ensure an ICT (information and communication technology) infrastructure network to all mobile network operators (MNOs) in these markets. TAWAL aims to bring investments, processes and practices, and new products to its portfolio. The company will leverage its skills in managing critical and infrastructure across KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) to boost European markets by accelerating deployment of ICT infrastructure in those markets.
