Nokia, China United Network Communication Group partner on 5G fixed wireless access

Espoo, Finland – Nokia and China United Network Communication Group (CUC) has announced their expanded collaboration by trialing a 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) solution based on Nokia’s converged Multi Access Gateway in the existing network (Guangdong). This is an initial test in the China market. By integrating the fixed and mobile network, CUC will be able to scale network bandwidth and deliver more broadband services in the future to its customers through its 5G network.

Espoo, Finland – Nokia and Telia Finland announced the launch of the commercial 5G standalone (SA) network with network slicing for fixed wireless access (FWA) services. Telia is introducing 5G SA to its 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) home broadband services and is able to start offering a range of broadband deals with guaranteed service levels to its customers in Finland. These solutions will enable Telia to build on its existing leadership position and deliver enhanced connectivity and capacity benefits to its customers. The deployment is underway.

Nokia and Safaricom complete fixed wireless access 5G slicing trial

Nairobi, Kenya. 22 August 2022 – Nokia has announced that it has successfully piloted its 4G and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) network slicing with mobile operator, Safaricom on its live commercial network. This is the 4G/5G network slicing has been successfully achieved in Africa. The trial utilised a multi-vendor network environment and included RAN, transport and core as well as software upgrades to a range of Nokia’s products and services.
