Espoo, Finland – Nokia and China United Network Communication Group (CUC) has announced their expanded collaboration by trialing a 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) solution based on Nokia’s converged Multi Access Gateway in the existing network (Guangdong). This is an initial test in the China market. This is the 4G/5G network slicing has been successfully achieved in Africa. The trial utilised a multi-vendor network environment and included RAN, transport and core as well as software upgrades to a range of Nokia’s products and services.

Nokia and Ooredoo have announced the introduction of super-fast and reliable 4G and 5G fixed wireless (FWA) access throughout Oman. Work to deploy the Nokia FastMile 4G FWA solution throughout the country commenced in February 2021.
