Nokia, Nomios Group to triple capacity for GEANT European research network

Nokia, Nomios Group, and GEANT have revealed plans for GEANT, a union of European National Research and Education Networks (NRENs), to implement an IP/MPLS (internet protocol / multiprotocol label switching) solution from Nokia. This deployment is a component of a 10-year framework agreement overseen by Nomios Group.

Nokia expands OpenColo’s data centre site connectivity using 800GE routing interfaces

Santa Clara, United States – Nokia and OpenColo have announced the completion of the initial commercial field trial to transport a 1.6 terabit/s traffic flow over an 800GE link aggregation group with 800GE FR4 optics. Based in Silicon Valley, OpenColo is a provider of data centre connectivity and colocation services with locations in Santa Clara, California and Miami, Florida.

Rakuten Symphony, Juniper Networks partner to drive change to RAN Intelligent Controller business model

Tokyo, Japan – Rakuten Symphony, Inc. and Juniper Networks, announced a much-needed change to the current adoption model of the RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) by delivering Juniper’s RIC as part of the Symworld platform. The Symworld platform embedded with Juniper’s RIC comes with the Symworld application purchased, similar to iOS embedded with any iPhone, and supports any third-party application. This collaboration is part of a broader partnership that includes Juniper’s cloud-native routing and cloud metro solutions.

Nokia deploys IP peering solution to upgrade TREX regional internet exchanges in Finland
