Tysons, United States and Manila, Philippines. 17 August, 2022 – Philippine telco company PLDT’s wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is collaborating with U.S.-based Omnispace to explore and demonstrate the capabilities of space-based 5G communications using low earth orbit (LEO) satellites.
Batelco and Ericsson have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on 5G technologies and innovations in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s digital economy vision. This latest MoU is part of Batelco’s efforts to enhance its network capabilities to achieve future goals for 5G technology, in addition to supporting development programs for new use cases that highlight the potential of 5G for consumers and enterprises.

Huawei announced its achievements in realising key 4.5G/5G technologies in all Small Cell products (including LampSite, Pico, Micro, and Book RRU) at the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai. STL, an optical and digital solutions company, concluded the Workshop on Advances in Optical Communications meeting organised by IIT Madras and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). STL also announced that it is participating and contributing to the Advanced Optical Communications (AOC) test bed project, an initiative by the DoT to drive innovation and collaboration in the next-generation communications technology.
Future Technologies Venture, LLCand Nokia have announced their collaboration on several multi-year, multi-million-dollar Private 5G projects in the U.S. federal market. The two companies will provide end-to-end solutions that include Private 5G core, edge compute/MEC, indoor and outdoor radio access networks, and use cases.
