Bluebird Network completes acquisition of Missouri Telecom’s fibre network assets

Bluebird Network, a communications infrastructure provider and operator of two data centres and over 11,000 miles of fibre, announces the completion of its acquisition of fibre network assets from Missouri Telecom Inc. (MTI). This purchase delivers a new level of service to communities within Mount Vernon, Monett, Nevada, and Aurora, Missouri.

Connecting Bluebird’s ultra-reliable network to these communities opens up the full suite of new services for customers in the region, who now have access to dedicated internet, data centre solutions, Ethernet connectivity and private cloud access.

In addition to adding 40 miles of fibre route miles to Bluebird’s network, the company also established three new points of presence (PoPs) in Southwest Missouri.

Bluebird’s vision is to have a fibre presence in 80% of communities across the company’s 11-state footprint with a population greater than 10,000 people. This acquisition continues Bluebird’s momentum and furthers their growth strategy across the Midwestern United States.

“These network assets complement Bluebird’s existing fibre footprint while bringing us closer to our long-term goals,” says Michael Morey, president and CEO of Bluebird Network. “This acquisition allows Bluebird to expand and strengthen our network services, specifically for communities in Southwest Missouri and offer those communities a new era of productivity.”

Leveraging Bluebird’s data centre facility has never been easier for the collection of Southwest Missouri communities, as Bluebird’s underground data centre in Springfield, Missouri, is a short drive away and a powerful complement to existing fibre services.

The purchase bolsters Bluebird’s expansive fibre footprint in the region and enables more businesses and organisations throughout the Midwest to take control of their digital transformation.
