Allstream transforms service layer with NetCracker

NetCracker Technology has announced that Allstream, Canada’s all-business communications provider, has agreed to transform its end-to-end order management and service fulfillment capabilities using its comprehensive next-gen innovative NetCracker 9 suite.

Allstream is a Canadian provider of IP communications and the only national communications provider that works exclusively with business customers of all sizes with a coast-to-coast national IP fibre network. This agreement adds NetCracker’s Customer Information Management, Service Order Management and Service Inventory products to Allstream’s current suite of NetCracker systems, which include Customer Order Management, Product Information Management and Service Information Management.

This new end-to-end order management solution builds on Allstream’s use of NetCracker’s configure, price, quote and product catalogue capabilities. It will support several major product lines.

“Our past success with NetCracker Technology made selecting them a natural choice for this project,” said Ray Lahoud, the vice president of network and IT services at Allstream. “We look forward to exploiting NetCracker’s expertise, delivery capabilities and proven solution assets.”

NetCracker will replace a legacy order management system, integrate the new components with several systems supporting the service fulfillment process and deliver solution configuration and testing for Allstream.

“Our ongoing partnership with Allstream is a strong example of how NetCracker’s BSS/OSS capabilities are helping our customers accelerate, monetise and improve the ways in which they create and deliver sophisticated and complex services for their customers,” said Sylvain Seignour, the vice president for Americas at NetCracker. “We look forward to helping Allstream strengthen its competitive position in the market for business communications and connectivity services.”
