Hong Kong’s SmarTone upgrades Netcracker Revenue Management solution to simplify billing operations

Netcracker Technology has been selected to upgrade and extend its relationship with SmarTone. As part of the agreement, Netcracker will upgrade its Revenue Management solution and extend its Systems Integration and Professional Services arrangement with the Hong Kong-based operator.

SmarTone provides voice, multimedia and mobile broadband services through its territory-wide 4G network and fixed-fibre broadband services for consumer and corporate markets.

Upgrading Netcracker’s Revenue Management solution, which is SmarTone’s primary convergent billing platform, is designed to help the service provider transform its eCommerce business, improve customer experience and future-proof its IT infrastructure. It is also said to mark a milestone in SmarTone’s objective to leverage a converged rating, charging and billing platform.

“As a customer-centric company, we deliver outstanding digital experiences to our customers. To achieve this goal, it is critical for us to have the most functional and capable convergent billing solution,” said Stephen Chau, interim CEO of SmarTone. “By upgrading Netcracker’s Revenue Management solution, we will be able to experience a range of new features to accelerate the order-to-cash process and optimise customer experience.”

With an upgraded Revenue Management solution and an extended Systems Integration and Professional Services agreement, SmarTone can enable more flexible and efficient billing processes. The improved billing solution will also be easier to manage, which will reduce cost and complexity.

“The fast-moving mobile environment across Hong Kong requires operators to leverage comprehensive billing solutions that can simplify operations and provide superior service,” said Loh John Wu, VP Asia Pacific at Netcracker. “We are excited to upgrade our solution at SmarTone and help it utilise features that are characteristic of a market leader.”
