Ontegrity and Narada in deal to help Chinese telcos run more reliably while cutting energy costs

Jonathan Quint, CEO, Ontegrity

Ontegrity, the provider of predictive analytics, site-management services and power solutions for organisations that cannot afford power interruptions, has partnered with Narada Power Source Co., Ltd. to develop the China Energy Monitoring Solution (CEMS), which Narada will resell and support.

CEMS will help the Chinese telecommunications industry reduce energy consumption, better understand the condition of back-up power sources, and remotely control switching between grid power and back-up power to reduce energy costs.

“Ontegrity focuses on helping customers worldwide keep mission-critical systems powered on and running efficiently and cost-effectively,” said Jonathan Quint, CEO of Ontegrity. “The partnership with Narada furthers our goal by helping the Chinese telecom industry provide continuous service for consumers while saving on energy costs.”

CEMS, which monitors and controls remote sites from a central location, will empower Narada’s customers to understand the health of back-up power systems, thus enabling more reliable operation. The technology also employs “peak-shaving” technology which adjusts energy usage so that customer sites run on the power stored in batteries during the most expensive rate times, thus reducing energy costs.

“We’re excited to leverage Ontegrity’s remote monitoring and analytics technology to help customers achieve business continuity while reducing costs,” said Xianzhang Wu, chief engineer for Narada. “Our customers will benefit—not only by staying on during power outages—but also by using power cost-effectively during normal conditions and leaving behind a greener footprint.”
