ContentWise™, a personalisation, discovery and recommendations solution for digital TV content, has partnered with Babeleye, the multilingual video content metadata platform, to bring personalised TV experiences to the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The partnership, which will see Babeleye’s metadata platform integrated with both ContentWise solutions, will enable ContentWise to deliver search, discovery and recommendations for local content, providing viewers with the very best TV experiences across screens.

Babeleye’s detailed mapping of local market metadata in the MEA region delivers localised metadata across multiple platforms and in multiple countries, with a particular focus on the Arab region. By integrating the Babeleye solution with ContentWise’s Personalization System and Knowledge Factory metadata processing engine, ContentWise will be able to enhance its metadata and personalization offerings for the Middle East and Africa, providing advanced content search, discovery and recommendations for Arabic content, amongst others.

“ContentWise is one of the leading personalisation offerings for multiscreen TV and we are happy to have integrated with its solutions and support the company as it delivers personal user experiences for the growing MEA market,” said Lasse Schmidt, Sales Director at Babeleye. “Our partnership not only benefits local viewers, but it also means TV providers across the region will be able to get the very best of Babeleye and ContentWise technologies in one, ready to use platform. As pay-TV in the region continues to thrive, we are looking forward to working with ContentWise and supporting local operators and viewers.”

Following the recent launch of the ContentWise Knowledge Factory metadata engine, the partnership with Babeleye will enable ContentWise to enrich metadata for local content and deliver content-based personalization.

“As one of the fastest growing pay-TV markets, the MEA region is a key market for us as we continue to expand globally,” said Paolo Bozzola, CEO at ContentWise. “The partnership with Babeleye ensures that we are able to deliver the very best, personal TV experience to viewers across the region. The Babeleye metadata platform, which will work alongside our new Knowledge Factory engine, will extract the maximum value from data, and will ensure that we help operators and TV providers make the most of their metadata.”

The ContentWise Knowledge Factory is an integrated set of metadata management software and tools that help operators source, enrich, integrate and maintain better content metadata. The solution blends, reconciles, de-duplicates and enriches data from different sources, eliminating metadata silos to deliver personalized TV experiences. It also extracts maximum value from metadata licenses with third-party data providers, such as Babeleye, creating non-obvious links between data.

ContentWise will be bringing its newly launch Knowledge Factory, as well as its Personalization System, at IBC 2015. Visitors to the show will be able to see first-hand demonstrations of both solutions as well as an Arabic-language demo, powered by Babeleye, at the ContentWise stand (#14.K05).
