Adaptive Insights, the cloud corporate performance management (CPM) for the biggest brands and the fastest-growing companies, today announced that Infoblox, a leading provider of network control solutions, implemented Adaptive Insights’ cloud-based solutions to provide critical data analysis and deliver strategic insights to better manage business expansion. Infoblox is a leader in automated network control with over 8,100 customers and operations in more than 25 countries.

A global finance team moving beyond Excel to Adaptive Insights’ cloud-based solution

Challenged to plan and manage the company’s  financial performance with a rapidly growing organisation across multiple countries and local currencies, in 2010 the Infoblox finance team replaced its previous budgeting system—built exclusively on Excel spreadsheets—with Adaptive Planning and subsequently added Adaptive Discovery and Adaptive OfficeConnect. The goal was to find a solution to automate annual and quarterly forecast development along with monthly and quarterly reporting of actual results and to enable deeper strategic analysis without relying on manually entering and exporting data from Excel.

“Adaptive Insights has helped us automate processes and become a much more effective and efficient FP&A organisation,” said Jonas Hallman, Infoblox senior manager of FP&A and resident Adaptive Insight expert. “Our finance team has more time to analyse data and provide better business advice to the rest of the organisation, which is critical to our company’s growth.”

In addition, Hallman noted that implementation of Adaptive Insight has created a more reliable and timely process for consolidating multi-currency plans and reports into a single view, and it helped the finance team keep better pace with the company’s aforementioned growth including the transition to reporting as a publicly held company.

“We built our product suite to enable finance organisations to drive strategic decisions across the company, especially in times of change and evolution,” said Karen Pisha, vice president of customer success at Adaptive Insights. “The Infoblox team did just that—through its incredible revenue growth, IPO and now its next phase of growth—underscoring the value finance teams deliver when they focus on data analysis instead of data gathering.”

In a recent CFO Report, 63 percent of CFOs felt a lack of time for analysis due to lengthy data gathering and reconciliation was the top inhibitor to being more strategic, underscoring the importance of the data insights the Infoblox team is realising with Adaptive Insights.
