Manx Telecom launches beSIM, appoints Mike Bathard to lead the team

Manx Telecom Group has launched beSIM, a global eSIM business unit that develops solutions leveraging its vast network of over 600 roaming agreements around the world to offer travel and fintech companies the opportunity to create new roaming revenue streams by offering embedded eSIM services to their customers through their existing apps.

The global roaming eSIM is becoming increasingly popular due to its convenience and cost-effectiveness for travelers who need to stay connected while abroad. With the ability to switch between multiple carriers and plans without physical SIM cards, users can get connectivity without the hassle of buying and swapping SIM cards.

To lead the beSIM team, Manx Telecom has appointed Mike Bathard, who has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with a proven track record of success in delivering results. He has held various senior positions in global telecommunications companies, and most recently served as global head of sales at Truphone for its finance sector.

Iarla Hughes, CFO of Manx Telecom Group, says “We are thrilled to welcome Mike to the Manx Telecom Group and beSIM. His expertise and caliber in the field will be instrumental in driving the growth of beSIM and delivering world-class eSIM solutions to our customers.”

Mike comments, “I am excited to be joining the Manx Telecom at this pivotal time in the global eSIM market, and thrilled to be launching and leading beSIM. beSIM is a market-leading B2B eSIM proposition combining leading technology with over 600 direct data roaming agreements and Manx Telecom Group’s 120 years of experience in communications.”
