EXFO enhances testing capabilities for data centres, hyperscalers, component manufacturers

EXFO, a communications industry’s test, monitoring and analytics experts, has shared advancements in next-generation test solutions to meet the needs of service providers, hyperscalers, data centre operators, and component manufacturers who are striving to deliver increased speeds and feeds for bandwidth-hungry services. EXFO will showcase a suite of these next-gen capabilities plus extensive industry interoperability at OFC 2023 in San Diego March 7-9.

“EXFO is accelerating ‘lab to live’ testing with test and measurement solutions that support automation and digital transformation in labs and networks globally,” says Stephane Chabot, vice president business development at EXFO. “At OFC we are showcasing our advanced solutions and participating in multiple interoperability demonstrations that show how innovation and collaboration can benefit the communications industry as a whole.”

Headlining EXFO’s OFC solutions lineup are:

  • New 800G test solution FTBx-88800 series: Enhancing EXFO’s high-speed testing portfolio, this powerful 800G test solution is a perfect fit for developers validating interoperability and compliance with latest 800G standards. Testing throughout the entire high-speed environment, including network link testing, the FTBx-88800 series features transceiver breakout testing and support for different form factors such as QSFP. When combined with EXFO’s FTB-1 Pro platform, it becomes the portable, compact 800G test solution.
  • PIC testing fully-automated photocurrent module: This new module enhances our high-performance CTP10 passive component platform which, now combinedwith the capability of theEHVA edge coupling probe station, delivers fast, automated and accurate PIC testing. EXFO acquired EHVA in 2022. EXFO’s booth will also showcase the T200S and T500S continuous tunable lasers supporting advanced component testing.

FTTx broadband access test advancements including:

  • PPM1 service activation PON power metre dual-layer tester for PON service activation with added broadband capabilities.
  • EX10 multigigabit residential and business services tester validates 10GE, residential WiFi 6E and monitors residential quality of experience.

Field testing and data centre connectivity solutions:

  • FTBx-88480/88481 compact, dual-port 400G tester with 112G electrical lanes and modular Open Transceiver System (OTS) – Supports both QSFP-DD and OSFP transceiver form factors – and can be used in the field as a portable solution or within EXFO’s rackmount platform.
  • FTBx-88482 combines the power of the FTBx-88480 and FTBx-88481 into a four-slot solution with capabilities like quad-port 400G, OTS and 112G electrical lanes – all supported under a single software configuration option.
  • 64G Fiber Channel test solution – Ensures new 64G FC switches and transceivers are up-and-running reliably at every stage from service turnup validation to end nodes troubleshooting.
  • PMX/LXM MPO Optical Loss Test Set (OLTS) – Full-featured MPO-12 power meter and light source with the test speeds.
  • FIP-500 fibre inspection scope – Fastest inspection in the industry for single-fiber, multi-fiber and now for duplex connectors, with the most reliable results.
  • OTH-7000 optical test head – Compact OTDR-based remote test unit designed for fiber network testing and monitoring.

As well as hosting visitors on the EXFO booth, EXFO is staging interoperability demonstrations with 12 customers & partners and taking part in OIF & Ethernet Alliance interop demonstrations at OFC.
