V.tal selects Kyndryl to optimise routes on its neutral fibre optic network

São Paulo, Brazil – V.tal, a neutral end-to-end fibre optics infrastructure company, has chosen Kyndryl, a provider of IT infrastructure services in the world, to optimise and virtualise traffic and routes throughout its terrestrial network of more than 430,000 kilometers of fibre optics. With this agreement, V.tal will continue to drive the digital transformation for telecom operators and internet providers, allowing them to improve their users’ high-speed internet usage experience.

With coverage of more than 19 million addresses with fibre optics in all regions of the country, V.tal needed a reliable technology partner with deep network expertise to support its expansion plan and route optimisation. For this purpose, it has chosen Kyndryl, which will supply the virtualised router reflector, a solution that brings even more agility to V.tal’s network, helping it to expand its capacity to serve customers with the same performance in all regions where it operates.

The router reflector is a fundamental piece of equipment in the modern internet routing infrastructure. It is responsible for distributing the network’s signal routes, ensuring that the paths and data deliveries are accurate. As V.tal’s infrastructure is shared by several client companies, Kyndryl’s solution also virtually separates the routes of each client, allowing the independence and neutrality of services even within the same network. With the virtualised router reflector, V.tal will have an optimised network infrastructure with multiple functionalities.

“As V.tal has the largest neutral fibre optic network in the country, the company is always working to optimise the traffic of all customers, which requires a constant evolution of the ability to deliver a resilient service with ever-increasing quality”, says Cícero Olivieri, vice president of engineering at V.tal. “In Kyndryl, we found an important partner, which has the experience in networking services to integrate an ecosystem of technology providers and implement modern network solutions, making our infrastructure even more robust”, adds the executive.

Companies of all sizes are increasingly reliant on connectivity to thrive in the digital age. To meet the growing demand of its users, operators together with local and regional providers have become interested in the model of neutral, fixed, or mobile networks, which require lower investment in capex and help improve performance.

“The expansion of the neutral network model like V.tal’s is pivotal in driving digital transformation of small and large companies from all sectors and across the country. Kyndryl is pleased to offer cutting-edge solutions that help companies in the telecom sector to modernise their network infrastructures.  the ultra-fast connectivity will equip local companies to prosper and innovate in their respective areas”, says José Felipe Ruppenthal, new generation networks consultant at Kyndryl Brazil.
