GSMA details new features and latest keynote speakers 

With MWC Las Vegas, in partnership with CTIA set to open its doors on 28 September at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s (LVCC) new West Hall, GSMA has shared the latest news about the North America edition of the MWC series. 

As business leaders and policymakers prepare to head for Vegas to share insights and discuss industry developments GSMA has revealed a packed agenda across the three day event. With a focus on the event theme of Connectivity Unleashed, MWC Las Vegas 2022 brings together the digital ecosystem with more than 200 expert speakers, over 300 companies across the exhibition halls, and 50-plus hours of curated content.  

Taking to the stage attendess will hear from industry leaders, including:  

  • AT&T’s EVP, GM, Partnerships & 5G Ecosystem & CTIA’s chairman, David Christopher;
  • City of Las Vegas, mayor, Carolyn Goodman
  • City of Las Vegas, CIO, Michael Sherwood
  • Faze Clan’s president and chief commercial officer, Zach Katz
  • Peloton’s chief marketing communications officer, Dara Treseder
  • T-Mobile Business Group’s president, Callie Field
  • Verizon Consumer Group’s chief operating officer, Krista Bourne

New features include:  

Industry City at MWC Las Vegas  

Supported by Industry City 5G Showcase partner, NTT, and following a successful launch at MWC Barcelona 2022, GSMA is excited to introduce Industry City to MWC Las Vegas. This content, networking and demo zone will showcase how vertical industries are building a connected and digital future. In addition to metaverse/web 3.0, Industry City will focus on the manufacturing, smart mobility and fintech sectors, in collaboration with headline sponsors Cisco and Microsoft Azure. The GSMA Pavilion, next to Industry City, will feature live demos including power IoT, virtual reality (VR) shopping and connected smart mobility.  

Introducing The HUB at MWC Las Vegas  

GSMA also presents the HUB – the start-up and innovation zone at MWC Las Vegas for startups, investors and companies to learn, connect and launch new business ventures. Developed in partnership with StartUp Vegas, whose mission is to boost start-up culture and create an environment of entrepreneurship in Las Vegas, the HUB will feature content sessions, fireside chats and LevelUps, StartUp Vegas’ pitch event for founders. From the HUB Stage, founders can pitch to a panel of venture capitalists. Exhibiting in the HUB and taking part in the startup programme are sixteen start-ups selected by Mobile World Capital Barcelona, the public-private initiative that promotes the digital development of society and helps improve people’s lives globally. MWCapital hosts MWC Barcelona and founded 4 Years from Now (4YFN).

Expert summits, thought leadership and policy tracks  

GSMA is also presenting expert GSMA summits and programmes at MWC Las Vegas. Visitors should look out for the mmWave Summit, as well as the eSim Summit, sponsored by Kore, Idemia and Valid and, the OpenRAN Summit, sponsored by Red Hat. In addition, attendees have the opportunity to hear from industry leaders in partner programme sessions from MITRE, NIPA, OnGo Alliance, The Besen Group, T-Mobile, TNS, Verizon, and Wiliot.  

At its Everything Policy track, CTIA will host discussions with policymakers and key wireless industry stakeholders focusing on trends and developments in government and public policy.  

Make new connections

GSMA has partnered with Amdocs’ The Great Indoors, as the official podcast provider for MWC Las Vegas 2022. Season 5 of the award-winning podcast will explore how technology can be used for good and progressing society at large.  

With Verizon as Event Partner, MWC Las Vegas 2022 will join around four themes: 5G Connect, sponsored by T-Mobile for Business; Tech Horizon, sponsored by ServiceNow; CloudNet sponsored by AWS and, Internet of Everything.
