Event Preview: Mobile World Congress Americas opens its doors for the first time on 12 September
In only a matter of days, the tech world will gather in San Francisco, USA for the inaugural Mobile World Congress Americas event, taking place on 12-14 September 2017 at the Moscone Center. Organised in partnership by the GSMA and CTIA, Mobile World Congress Americas will convene the mobile ecosystem and leading players from adjacent industry sectors, highlighting the groundbreaking products, services and technologies that are shaping the mobile landscape and its future.
The theme for the 2017 Mobile World Congress Americas is “The Tech Element,” reflecting the Americas’ role as a leader in the development of cutting- edge technologies. From the conference to the exhibition, Mobile World Congress Americas will address topics such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, consumer Internet of Things (IoT), next-generation networks, content and media, policy and sustainable development. The three-day show is expected to draw 30,000 attendees and more than 1,000 companies who will showcase their latest in mobile tech through exhibition stands, pavilions and hospitality spaces.
“Mobile is an essential part of how we interact, communicate, work and play, and the event will highlight key areas intersecting with mobile, from media, content and entertainment to enterprises and brands,” said Michael O’Hara, the chief marketing officer at GSMA. “We are looking forward to showcasing an industry that impacts literally billions of people around the world.”
