Comptel has won the first commercial agreement for its digital sales channel FWD that was officially launched in November 2015. FWD now makes it possible to purchase time-based data packages from DNA, Finland’s leading provider of prepaid subscriptions, using mobile devices.

The transaction value of the deal will be based on the number of DNA subscribers who adopt the FWD solution. Comptel anticipates that the FWD proposition has significant potential in prepaid dominant markets.

“This is in many ways a remarkable opening for us,” said Juhani Hintikka, the chief executive of Comptel. “It took only 12 months for our start-up incubator to bring the FWD solution to the market. Furthermore, this is our first commercial SaaS solution which, at this stage, has the biggest potential in developing data markets – now it is time to discover who will win the race for the next two billion internet users.”
