IET’s Savoy Place venue is location for the next Future of Wireless International Conference

IET London

The 7th Cambridge Wireless (CW) Future of Wireless International Conference will take place next year at the IET London: Savoy Place, following its £30 million refurbishment.  The event will run on June 21 and 22, to coincide with London Tech Week 2016.

“It was an obvious choice as the next venue for our Future of Wireless International Conference – located in the heart of London and easily accessible for attendees from across the country as well as an ever expanding list of overseas delegates,” said Bob Driver, CEO of Cambridge Wireless. “More importantly, IET: Savoy Place fits perfectly with our ambitions for the conference over the coming years.  We want to build upon the international engagement achieved last June at the Emirates Stadium and continue posing provocative and controversial questions to the wider tech community. Staging the conference during London Tech Week is the ideal way of achieving this.”

Having recently undergone a major refurbishment, the IET London: Savoy Place will reopen this Autumn, featuring brand new event spaces, state of the art wireless and audio-visual connectivity and a roof terrace with stunning panoramic views over the River Thames.  The new design encapsulates the heritage of a venue that has housed the IET for over 100 years, while also staking a claim to be one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly buildings in the capital. In addition to the existing 475 seat Kelvin Theatre, which has been meticulously restored, a new lecture space called the Turing Theatre has been built to accommodate a further 175 people.

The Future of Wireless International Conference will be officially launched around the beginning of 2016. To find out more about IET: Savoy Place visit http://savoyplace.theiet.org/ or take a virtual tour of the venue at https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=31&v=JOqp0u2PWKA
