NFV isn't just another network technology upgrade. 

Network functions virtualisation (NFV) is an elegant concept that understandably has gained a lot of CSP attention. The idea of decoupling the function of network equipment from the hardware itself to enable one piece of hardware to perform multiple, virtualised functions is of great appeal because it will eliminate sub-optimal use of capacity and remove the need for CSPs to deploy specific equipment to perform specific functions.
