Intec confirms exclusive report in VanillaPlus
that it is considering sale

Woking, Surrey, UK. – In a brief announcement to the London Stock Exchange on Monday, headlined “Response to Share Price Movement”, the Board of Intec Telecom Systems plc (“Intec”) stated:

“In view of today’s share price movement, the Board of Intec Telecom Systems plc (“Intec” or “the Company”) confirms that it is in highly preliminary discussions with a third party which may or may not lead to an offer for the Company. Discussions are at a very early stage, and as such there can be no certainty as to whether any offer will be forthcoming nor as to the level at which any offer might be made. A further announcement will be made in due course.”

This announcement follows VanillaPlus.com’s exclusive report on April 29, 2010 alerting readers to a plunge in Intec’s share price, market rumours surrounding Intec’s possible sale, and linking the company to interest from Convergys and Oracle. Intec declined to comment on the rumours at the time, but there was known to be considerable satisfaction at the Grameenphone contract win.

When the shares climbed by over 38% to 76 pence on Monday, VanillaPlus contacted Intec to ask for a comment. The above announcement followed an hour later:

Below is an extract from VanillaPlus.com’s exclusive report on April 29, 2010:
“The announcement (of a contract with Grameenphone of Bangladesh) comes as welcome good news after Intec’s share price came under intense pressure when the company issued a surprise profits warning at the end of March. The London-listed share price fell to 58 pence from 94.5 pence, although it has since recovered to 63.5 pence. Financial analysts say this has made it vulnerable to takeover – the company has been linked in the past to Convergys and Oracle.”

Telefónica O2 Ireland adopts Impact 360 speech analytics

Verint helps capture the ‘voice of the customer’
Verint® Systems Inc. has announced that Telefónica O2 Ireland, a provider of mobile services and communications solutions to customers and corporations in Ireland, implemented its Impact 360® Advanced Speech Analytics solution to help identify €1 million in potential savings by uncovering the underlying issues that prompt calls into its contact centre. By mining recorded calls and analysing customer interactions, the software from Verint® Witness Actionable Solutions® is helping O2 Ireland spot trends and opportunities, identify and respond to the root causes that result in unnecessary calls for customers, and gather key market intelligence.

O2 Ireland initially deployed the solution within its billing team to identify issues driving calls into the call centre. O2 Ireland was able to see that many calls were related to customers getting locked out of their accounts during the password-reset procedure. According to O2 Ireland, fixing that process alone has already yielded an estimated 6,000 fewer calls per month.
