Camiant and Blueslice interoperate on policy control and subscriber management

With the rapid uptake of technologies like LTE – it has become critical for network operators to prevent the proliferation of subscriber data silos

Marlborough, MA, USA and Montreal, Canada. 10 February, 2010 –  Blueslice Networks, creators of 'evolved Subscriber Data Management', and Camiant, Inc., a provider of policy control and application assurance technology, today announced the interoperability of Camiant’s PCRF (Policy & Charging Rules Function) with Blueslice’s Subscriber Data Management systems.  The integration will be showcased at this year’s Mobile World Congress on Stand 1E38.

The continued growth of mobile data fuelled by the availability of faster access networks and the increasing number of innovative mobile applications underscores service providers’ needs for an evolved, centralised architecture of subscriber intelligence and resources control. With a strong complementary solution portfolio, the Camiant and Blueslice integration ensures optimal use of service provider network resources and delivery of the best possible end-user experience.

Camiant and Blueslice share a unified philosophy that the “subscriber and resource control intelligence” layer should be centralised to avoid the creation of new silos in the network, and vendor neutral to allow operators an independent mechanism to control network growth. This approach lays the groundwork for a next-generation market offering that consists of an independent policy control management solution closely networked with a consolidated subscriber data management solution.

As part of this strategic partnership, Camiant and Blueslice will:

  • Perform tight integration and testing of the Camiant PCRF with the Blueslice Subscription Profile Repository (SPR) and Home Subscriber Server (HSS).
  • Bring to market an industry-leading LTE-ready PCRF + HSS solution to enable operators a quick and smooth introduction of Evolved Packet Core systems.
  • Jointly contribute to the next-generation Subscription Profile Repository standards by providing insight on best-of-breed “policy information models”.
  • Work with service providers to create a customised solution offering that meets their unique policy control and subscriber management needs.

Service providers such as mobile operators, cable and fixed line operators, multi-play and VoIP providers, IMS and FMC players will benefit from significant cost savings while improving RoI on new and existing data services by optimally using network resources.

“Camiant’s customers include the world’s most advanced broadband operators who understand the significance in integrating Camiant’s PCRF with the Blueslice SPR and HSS,” said Randy Fuller, Vice President of Business Development, Camiant. “The Blueslice and Camiant strategic partnership provides a vendor-neutral, best-in-class solution that maximises today’s network potential and paves the way for LTE.”

“With the rapid uptake of technologies like LTE – it has become critical for network operators to prevent the proliferation of subscriber data silos,” said Frederic Bastien, Vice President of Products, Blueslice Networks. “Working closely with the policy control market leader, Camiant, provides Blueslice with a compelling best-in-class policy front-end that is pre-integrated with the Blueslice data repository.”
