EchoStar Corporation has announced the completion of its acquisition of DISH Network Corporation (DISH Network) on December 31, 2023. To complete the acquisition, a wholly owned subsidiary of EchoStar merged with and into DISH Network, with DISH Network surviving the merger as a wholly owned subsidiary of EchoStar. “EchoStar and DISH merge to create premier wireless and satellite solutions”

Keysight Technologies, Inc., a technology company that delivers advanced design and validation solutions to help accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, has announced that the company joins forces with sixteen organisations to create 6G-SANDBOX, a pan-European testbed for 6G experimentation and validation of 5G-advanced and 6G capabilities. As a part of 6G-SANDBOX, Keysight will act as the project coordinator.

Aalyriaannounced its launch as an independent company. Aalyria’s advanced networking and laser communications technologies are capable of orchestrating and managing the most complex networks in the world, and extending them to places where there is no connectivity infrastructure – at an exponentially greater scale and speed than anything that exists today. The new company is commercialising these technologies with both private sector and government partners, already securing an initial [$8 million (€8.08 million)] contract with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) to help develop secure internet connectivity throughout the space domain for both private and public sector customers.
BT and OneWeb have agreed terms for a new Distribution Partner Agreement, with OneWeb to provide Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communication services across BT Group. This builds on an initial Memorandum of Understanding signed in July and means BT is testing how LEO satellite technology integrates with its existing terrestrial capabilities to meet the communications needs of customers.
