Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Nokia announced it has signed an agreement with Etisalat UAE, the telecoms pillar of e& in the UAE, to deploy 5G private wireless networks to support enterprises across Abu Dhabi. The two companies will work together to support businesses in various industries, including ports, oil and gas, government and critical infrastructure, by digitally transforming their operations and embracing Industry 4.0 through 5G use cases.

A new report by Juniper Research has found that the enhanced capabilities of 5G are driving enthusiasm and awareness of private cellular networks; bringing annual spend on network hardware and services to almost $12 billion (€10.29 billion) globally by 2023, growing 116% from the $5.5 billion (€4.72 billion) expected for 2021.
Samsung Electronics and Marvell announced that the companies jointly developed a new System-on-a-Chip (SoC) to enhance 5G network performance. Continuing its focus on IoT solutions for the mining industry, Sandvik has signed an agreement with Nokia to further develop Sandvik solutions for private LTE (Long Term Evolution) and 5G technology. The Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (NDAC) platform offers pervasive connectivity enabling advanced applications, and will initially be implemented and tested in the Sandvik test mine in Tampere, Finland.
