5G Open Innovation Lab (5G OI Lab) has announced that international telecommunication provider AT&T and Comcast have joined its ecosystem. The Lab also announced its batch #8 cohort with over $313 million (€293.09 million) in venture capital raised and 17 multi-stage startups embarking on 5G OI Lab’s fall programme, which begins this week. The Lab has established itself as an ecosystem provider since its inaugural batch #1 introduced in May 2020 becoming a destination for global startups, technology platforms, integration, and enterprises.
Keysight Technologies, Inc. has been awarded two Open Networks Ecosystem (ONE) competition grants. These grants come from UK government’s department for science, innovation and technology in partnership with 5G RuralDorset, Arm, British Telecom, the University of Surrey, Virgin Media O2, and Vodafone.

Siemens has joined the Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners, Georgia to bring 5G electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to the smart city ecosystem. Siemens’ charging stations and infrastructure will be installed at Curiosity Lab using T-Mobile’s 5G network to test how 5G enhance EV charging solutions.
