Efficient infrastructure means we can provide value and still differentiate on quality, says Plusnet Business chief

Nick Silverwood,
Plusnet Business

Enterprises are seen as a market under-served by communications service providers (CSPs) who could reap greater revenues by providing IT services in addition to connectivity. However, Nick Silverwood, the head of business at Plusnet, the provider of telephony and broadband services to the residential and small business market, says what small business customers really want is reliable, fixed price connections backed by high quality customer service. Reimagine what’s possible with 5G

Plans are afoot from the UK’s largest mobile operators, writes Kevin Hasley, the head of product at RootMetrics by IHS Markit, and all are determined to be able to make early claims about 5G performance and superiority within their consumer marketing and advertising campaigns. However, common wisdom suggests that the earliest adoption of 5G will be by British businesses, not consumers.

The long and winding road to 5G begins with 4G optimisation

The close of 2018 saw the UK operator O2 leave its customers without access to 3G or 4G data connectivity for more than 24 hours. TV whitespace has continental potential 31 May, 2018

TV whitespace has continental potential

When it comes to internet connectivity, it would be easy to assume that Europe has adequate provision – not so. In spite there being more than 700 million internet users across the continent, almost ten million households lack access to an adequate fixed broadband service, not to mention tens of thousands of businesses labouring with slow or no connections. This is increasingly becoming unacceptable, as digital technology becomes increasingly integral to our society, writes Adam Leach, the director of emerging technology at Nominet.
