Skyvera to acquire American Virtual Cloud Technology assets

Austin, United States – Skyvera announces its bid to acquire all assets of American Virtual Cloud Technologies, Inc., “AVCT” and specified affiliates (including, without limitation, Kandy Communications, LLC). AVCT, via its Kandy business unit, provides global, carrier-grade, white-label cloud communications services.

These include communications platform as a service (CPaaS), unified communications as a service (UCaaS), Microsoft Teams Direct Routing as a service, as well as a portfolio of real-time communications APIs and supporting functions.

The purchase of the AVCT software assets is Skyvera’s 10th acquisition, establishing the company’s position as a “carve-out” emerging global acquirer of telecommunication software businesses. The transaction is expected to close no later than March 31, 2023, and to be effectuated by way of a sale under 11 U.S.C. §363, subject to the entry of a sale order by the presiding court.

The Kandy CPaaS offering is a cloud-based platform that allows enterprises to add communication features such as SMS messaging, voice calling, and video conferencing to their existing business applications. By enabling on-demand, secure and controlled exposure of network capabilities to software developers via APIs, operators can transform their mobile network into a service enablement platform that facilitates application-to-network integration, creating new monetisation opportunities for the operator.

Kandy’s UCaaS is a cloud-based suite that offers a variety of communication and collaboration applications and services, such as enterprise messaging, presence technology, online meetings, team collaboration, telephony and video conferencing. Kandy’s white-labeled solution allows operators to offer a UCaaS suite to their enterprise customers that gives the end customer the ability to customise with their own branding.

The acquired assets will be managed by Skyvera, an affiliate of TelcoDR that provides communication service provider (CSP) customers with the software offerings they need to support their businesses. Acquired products are refactored and modernised for use with the public cloud, assisting CSPs on their public cloud journey.

“We are excited about the acquisition of AVCT and the Kandy business, as the UCaaS and CPaaS functionality strongly aligns with our public cloud strategy. These offerings will enable us to enhance network access and service monetisation through open APIs, benefiting new and existing customers,” says Jeff Moyer, CEO, Skyvera. “We look forward to welcoming AVCT’s customers to the Skyvera family and continued investment in the products.”
