Network performance assurance provider Accedian appoints new head of R&D, pursues growth in NFV, 5G
Accedian, a global end-to-end network performance assurance provider, has appointed Martin Labelle to the role of vice-president of Research and Development. Martin will lead technology and new product development by Accedian’s R&D teams in Montreal, Sweden, and Vietnam.
“We’re delighted to welcome Martin to Accedian,” said Accedian CEO, Patrick Ostiguy. “As our company continues to expand internationally and win more network operators and enterprise customers, Martin will play a key role in driving the development of new products and solutions, and positioning Accedian as an innovator and an intellectual property leader.
Martin’s R&D expertise and proven track record in developing and bringing to market ground-breaking and forward-thinking software defined networking solutions makes him an excellent addition to the Accedian leadership team.”
Martin brings over 19 years of knowledge and experience in product development to his new role. Prior to joining Accedian, Martin served as vice president of Software Engineering at Ciena, where he led all product development initiatives in the areas of software-defined networking (SDN), network and service management, network planning, and analytics.
Prior to that, Martin was vice president of Engineering and Operations at CENX, a developer of service orchestration and network analytics software. He has also held senior engineering roles with AMDOCS, Bridgewater Systems, Nakina Systems, Ceyba, Visual Networks and Newbridge Networks.
Commenting on his appointment, Martin said, “I’m excited to join Accedian at such a significant time in the company’s development. Globally, growing numbers of network operators are adopting virtualisation and moving to software-defined network architectures, while also preparing for 5G deployments.
Accedian is a pioneer in virtualised solutions for next generation network performance assurance. I’m looking forward to helping Accedian capitalise on the considerable opportunities that NFV, cloudification, and 5G present globally, and contributing to the company’s growth and ongoing success.”
