Amdocs expands NFV Partner Programme

Amdocs  is expanding its network functions virtualisation (NFV) Partner Programme to accelerate the development of pre-integrated, multi-vendor solutions from NFV and SDN providers and to simplify the process for communications service providers (CSPs) looking to implement NFV-based solutions across the entire service lifecycle.

Since its 2014 launch, the Amdocs NFV Partner Programme has grown to include more than 50 partners; the latest addition is Brocade, which is currently working with Amdocs on a virtual customer premises equipment (vCPE) proof-of-concept with a tier one service provider. Moving beyond integration with the orchestration and VNF management functions of Amdocs’ NFV orchestrator, Amdocs Network Cloud Service Orchestrator, this programme offers partners new capabilities that address the holistic NFV service lifecycle.

This includes critical path processes to accelerate virtual network function (VNF) onboarding through automation, and to ensure continuous fulfillment of virtual services. Through the Amdocs NFV Partner Programme, virtual network function (VNF) providers can easily on-board their software using Amdocs Service Design and Create, significantly reducing design, configuration and testing cycles from a typical 9-12 months down to weeks.

“Research shows that more than 60% of service providers are looking to commercialize NFV services such as virtual customer premises equipment (vCPE) this year, as well as software-defined transport services,” said Ann Hatchell, head of network marketing, Amdocs.  “The Amdocs NFV Partner Programme offers a comprehensive approach to NFV service lifecycle management that encompasses service onboarding, continuous fulfillment and assurance capabilities – including integration to back end monetisation systems – and a low risk approach to multi-vendor innovation.”
