Dimetis integrates V-Nova P.Link for end-to-end broadcast operation support of 4K, HD services
Dimetis and V-Nova has announced a technology partnership. The relationship sees V-Nova PERSEUS™-powered P.Link contribution solution integrated with Dimetis BOSS LINK Manager™. The integration will ensure that Dimetis customers can easily integrate, fully control and manage P.Link-powered video networks.
This is a major milestone in enabling service orchestration to shake up the traditional hardware-based contribution market and accelerate the transition to a more software-based and virtualised environment.
Dimetis BOSS LINK Manager™ provides seamless management of the transport of real-time video and data services regardless of network and layer, enabling end-to-end service orchestration, and easily integrates current and future protocols such as IP and SDN.
P.Link is a versatile software-based PERSEUS™ contribution encoding and decoding solution, which integrates seamlessly into existing workflows and infrastructure. P.Link provides unmatched 4K / UHD performance at visually lossless quality and low-latency as demonstrated during UEFA Euro 2016
“The integration of our operations support systems with V-Nova’s P.Link software-based solution expands the platform for reliable service-provisioning.
The modern architecture provides customer self-provisioning combined with V-Nova´s award-winning technology,” said Dr. Shahin Arefzadeh, COO, Dimetis.
“We believe in consumer demand for higher quality and for the need to capture and exchange more and more captivating 4K / UHD content. By allowing 4K to be delivered alongside HD feeds within the existing capacity, PERSEUS™-powered P.Link makes the business case for 4K contribution much more appealing today,” said Guido Meardi, V-Nova CEO & co-founder.
“The partnership with Dimetis, which has a really strong reputation for operational support systems in the broadcast and telecom markets, ensures that our customers can now deploy, control and manage P.Link software-based solutions much more easily using BOSS LINK Manager™.”
