Ericsson has announced the launch of Ericsson Revenue Manager 16, a convergent, real-time charging and billing product for digital service providers.
It features a breakthrough, cloud-based, highly configurable architecture to deliver new levels of automation, flexibility and operational efficiency. It is the first business support system (BSS) designed for the opportunities and challenges of the networked society. Communications service providers (CSPs) can use Ericsson Revenue Manager to launch new products and services in minutes, capture new revenue streams through real-time revenue sharing with partners, and drive customer experience through personalized omni-channel interactions, embedded analytics and unified policy control.
Estonian operator Telia Eesti is trialing Revenue Manager in a live environment. “As an operator in Estonia our key challenge is delivering digital services that meet high customer expectations,” said Tiit Tammiste, the CTO of Telia Eesti. We are delighted that Ericsson has launched a charging and billing system that addresses many of the digital challenges we are facing. Revenue Manager appears to offer a break-through approach and we are very happy to have the opportunity to be a trial partner to fully understand what it can do.”
Karl Whitelock, the director for Operations, Orchestration, Data Analytics & Monetization (ODAM) Global Competitive Strategies at Stratecast, added: “Current BSS systems need to change dramatically if operators are to remain relevant. To this end, business management and monetisation systems must be re-architected in support of new digital business models and cost reduction efforts. Ericsson Revenue Manager is a scalable BSS product for convergent monetization, with a focus on service delivery and customer experience processes. It addresses the telecom and non-telecom service offer processes that enable run-time introduction of digital services.”
Ove Anebygd, the head of Solution Area OSS/BSS at Ericsson, said: “Ericsson Revenue Manager is a game-changer that acts as a digital business enabler for service providers, reducing time-to-market from months to minutes and supporting any business model. It represents the realisation of Ericsson’s vision of the true promise of business support systems. Operators are making Ericsson Revenue Manager a key component of transformative IT programs while moving away from complex and costly BSS environments.”
