Greg Waite, CEO of InventionShare™, said that 5by5 Wireless™ is making significant inroads into over a dozen countries focusing on bringing wireless internet to rural and under-serviced areas, providing a 10 times return over the cost of infrastructure to regional internet service providers (ISPs).
Mr. Waite said he is not surprised at the high level of interest in 5by5 Wireless and its “huge” area wireless solution. The company has been concentrating on the 1.5 billion customers in the currently under-serviced wireless internet market – North America and world-wide – and those without reliable wireless internet.
InventionShare recently completed analysis of more than a dozen countries and developed business cases for a number of ISP installations using 5by5 Wireless technology. Each country or region business case shows that an existing ISP can generate significant new revenues, and has the opportunity for a 10 times return over the cost of infrastructure over 3-5 years. This can be accomplished using a 5by5 Wireless subscription model with as little as 1,500 new customers and one 5by5 Wireless base station installation.
“I would have to say that our country partners are amazed at the financial returns that can be made using our wireless solution with only 1,500 new customers. The secret is that we can cover a rural area of 3,200 square km or 1,250 square miles with one installation on a single tower – the ROI (return on investment) is quite something. Low density populations can now get reasonably priced ‘metro-like’ internet, VoIP and HD/SD entertainment,” said Mr. Waite.

Mr. Waite said that 5by5 Wireless can be considered as a ground breaking solution for ISPs and companies providing internet and cable solutions who are looking to expand their reach into rural areas, or for emerging countries looking to cover larger areas with a low cost internet startup solution.

Mr. Waite stated that InventionShare is now in licensing and partnership discussions and integrating subscription models and 5by5 Wireless installations with partners who are seriously looking at new applications for large area wireless connectivity, IoT applications, smart city and traditional consumer markets.
