AsiaInfo and Reliance agree joint venture for new services development

AsiaInfo International and Reliance Corporate IT Park have entered into a joint venture agreement to build and develop innovative new services for businesses in India and beyond.

The agreement was signed in Mumbai, India and will see the companies use their capabilities to create a next generation information technology software and services powerhouse to serve India and the surrounding region.

The venture will be headquartered in Mumbai, and will initially recruit staff from both companies as well as seeking to attract top talent both locally and internationally, growing to a few hundred people by early 2016. The business will look to develop further innovative service offers and new business collaborations for Reliance-owned companies, as well as other businesses in India before expanding internationally in the sub-continent and beyond.

Announcing the agreement, a spokesperson from Reliance said: “This Indo-Chinese partnership between the two companies with a track record for innovation, will offer enterprises the ability to develop digital services for a large scale market.”

AsiaInfo’s Dr Edward Tian said: “Combining with one of India’s largest and most progressive business groups, will create a technology powerhouse with the potential to help businesses across the region transform their IT infrastructures and compete on the global stage.”
