Lisbon, Portugal – WeDo Technologies, a worldwide provider of Enterprise Business Assurance (EBA) systems, has concluded its first EBA Summit and tenth annual Worldwide User Group events. It attracted more than 400 attendees from the Telco, Retail, Utilities, Healthcare and Finance industries from all over the world to discuss the EBA approach to reducing business losses and improving performance.

Ensuring true international relevance, the two events in Lisbon last week saw representation from more than 45 countries around the world. Bringing a high level business perspective to the events were keynote speakers Yuri Van Geest, entrepreneur and researcher in emerging, exponential and disruptive technological innovation and entrepreneur António Carrapatoso. Antonio closed the event with “What do CEOs lose sleep over?”, while Yuri discussed his take on “Exponential Organizations – why new organisations are 10x better, faster and cheaper than yours (and what to do about it).” Claudia Azevedo, CEO of Sonae Investment Management and WeDo shareholder, opened the event while WeDo CEO Rui Paiva and CMO Sérgio Silvestre established its context with a discussion of how to create business disruption and innovation without disrupting the business. The event then closed with remarks from Portugal’s Minister of Economy, António Pires de Lima.

To complement the event’s theme of networking and sharing experiences in a multi-industry environment, as well as WeDo’s strategy to build the indirect channel on a global level for the Retail, Utilities, Healthcare and Finance sectors, 27 WeDo Technologies customers and partners from the different vertical industries were able to discuss their experiences of deploying WeDo’s EBA software for continuous business monitoring and automated controls across financial applications and other business support systems. Key metrics emerging from the case studies included the fact that one customer was able to process 250 billion records each month using WeDo software, hitting 10 billion records per day at peak times.

As we’ve learned from our community of Telco customers across the years, all businesses need and want disruption and innovation in order to achieve growth and establish new, better ways of doing things. But with this also comes a fear of loss of control. There is therefore a huge opportunity for executives everywhere to bridge this gap, finding a way to measure the impact of change and keep tight control of business as transformation takes place. We see Enterprise Business Assurance as the way to achieve this, and wanted to share the principles learned in the Telco space with other sectors, including Retail, Utilities, Healthcare and Finance. With the launch of our indirect channel at a worldwide level we now expect this amazing international community to become even stronger and more diverse,” commented Rui Paiva, WeDo Technologies CEO.

Having now run ten extremely successful Telco-focussed events, it was intensely rewarding to close out a decade of Worldwide User Groups by looking out at the multi-industry sea of faces at this year’s first EBA Summit event. We have always focused on ensuring a mutual learning and networking experience for our event attendees and it was great to see people from a cross-section of global industries exploring EBA together, discussing the shared challenges and opportunities,” explained Sérgio Silvestre, VP and Chief Marketing Officer at WeDo Technologies.
