FarEasTone (FET) selects MYCOM OSI NIMS-PrOptima™ for LTE performance management

MYCOM OSI, the independent provider of Next Generation Service Assurance, Automation/Orchestration, and Analytics solutions to the world’s largest Communications Service Providers (CSPs), today announced that its NIMS-PrOptima™ Service and Network Performance Management platform has been selected by FarEasTone Telecommunications (FET) to manage the performance of its LTE network.

FET is a CSP in Taiwan that provides 4G/LTE to over 1,000,000 subscribers. As part of its plans for LTE expansion and service introduction, FET required a proven and flexible performance management solution. To select the solution that could meet its needs, FET ran a detailed competitive evaluation, in which NIMS-PrOptima™ was ranked 1st. Key NIMS-PrOptima™ features, such as the ability to easily create new reports or to run detailed drill-down analysis, impressed FET. The MYCOM OSI track record in LTE, which was supported by strong customer references, its productise network equipment adaptor approach for quick deployment and its local presence also influenced the FET decision.

“As we continue to lead 4G/LTE roll-out in Taiwan, we needed a network performance solution that did more than simply monitor performance but empowered our users to manage performance,” said Brian Shean, Director, Network Management and Service Engineering, FarEasTone. “MYCOM OSI’s NIMS-PrOptima™ is much more flexible and powerful than the competition to allow us to easily and rapidly create our own reports and analysis amidst ever-changing network infrastructure. We are long-term happy customers of MYCOM OSI’s NetExpert™ fault management solution and so far have had a similar experience with the NIMS-PrOptima™ sister solution.”

“We are delighted that FarEasTone (FET) has ranked NIMS-PrOptima™ 1st in a detailed technical evaluation, and has decided to deploy our best-in-class solution to manage the performance of its LTE network alongside our NetExpert™ fault management solution,” commented Dr. Payam Taaghol, CEO of MYCOM OSI. “Having both our performance and fault management solutions deployed in a single customer environment takes us one step closer to realizing our goals of delivering an integrated and unified Service Assurance solution.”
