Australia’s Hansen Technologies buys Denmark-based TeleBilling for €20m to give greater scale in Europe

Andrew Hansen, CEO

Hansen Technologies Ltd (ASX: HSN), headquartered in Victoria, Australia, has announced the acquisition of TeleBilling A/S, a provider of BSS/OSS solutions to the European telco market. As Jeremy Cowan reports, the sale price was for 150 million Danish Kroner (€20.09 million) of the Denmark-based business.

“We are very pleased to welcome TeleBilling’s customers and staff to Hansen Technologies. The combination of the two companies under Hansen creates a single vendor with vertically focused solutions for fixed-line, wireless, and broadcast networks of virtually any size,” said Andrew Hansen, CEO. “With 95 subject matter experts now joining our European team, we’ve become a competitively stronger company with significantly greater scale in the region.

Hansen powers some of the largest pan-regional DTH broadcasters in the world today, such as DirecTV in Latin America, and MultiChoice in Africa. TeleBilling’s strong telecoms heritage and modular architecture will enable existing Hansen customers to cost-effectively introduce additional digital services such as broadband, VoIP, or mobile, and brings strong customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) capability into the product mix.

“Hansen’s global presence provides us with international sales and support capability that was beyond our reach,” said Jesper Schack, founder of TeleBilling. “Our shared commitment to reliable delivery and product excellence creates a larger resource pool that will benefit existing customers and provide new opportunities for our employees.”
