Telecom veteran Steve Elfman to join Brite:Bill board of directors

Brite:Bill, the billing communications platform provider, has announced that Steve Elfman has agreed to join its board of directors.

A proven and innovator in wireless technology, Elfman has a wealth of expertises in telecoms applications and Internet business models. His most recent appointment, from which he has just retired, was president of Network Operations and Wholesale at Sprint. The organisation has been responsible for award-winning devices and an innovative approach to service and network operations and development.

Elfman’s vast telecoms experience helped Sprint create a more open environment to enable wireless data services for consumers, businesses and the machine–to-machine (M2M) markets. Elfman joined the Sprint senior team in May 2008 from mobile data technology services company Infospace. There he was executive vice president of Infospace Mobile, then president and chief operating officer (COO) of Motricity following the acquisition of Infospace Mobile. He also has held positions at Terabeam, as executive vice president of operations, and AT&T Wireless, where he was chief information officer (CIO). Elfman was also the CIO at GE Capital (Fleet Services Company) as well as head of IT at 3M Company for International Operations.

Elfman graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Canada with a degree in computer science and business. He currently serves on the board of Goodman Networks, Affirmed Networks and Smith Micro and is an advisor to ItsOn and ImiMobile and previously served on the Competitive Carrier Association, Bethany College and Clearwire boards.
